# Engineering Drawings to Verified STEP Models

> Converts a package of 2D engineering drawings into dimensionally verified STEP models with a full audit trail. For each sheet the agent inventories the title block, builds a provenance-tracked dimension table (every value labeled, measured, computed or flagged as an assumption), hand-computes acceptance values (bounding box, volume, cross-section areas) from the drawing arithmetic BEFORE modeling, then builds a parametric CadQuery model in the Parametric Part Designer with live dimension checks, reconciles every check, verifies the solid independently with face distances, mass properties and sections, renders line drawings with hidden edges to lay over the source sheet, and writes a per-part tolerance record with acceptance bands under the sheet's general tolerance standard (e.g. ISO 2768-m). Finishes with a package report and a human review gate for the open engineering questions. Deliverables per part: exact B-rep STEP, watertight STL, screenshots, the parametric script and the verification evidence.

## Workflow Outline

1. Inventory the Drawing Package: Goal: Catalog every 2D engineering drawing sheet provided and its title-block contract before any modeling starts. | Inputs: The attached engineering drawings (PDF or image), one part per sheet. | Outputs: A package inv...
2. Process Each Drawing: Repeat this section for each drawing. Take each drawing in the inventory through the full chain: extract dimensions, predict acceptance values, build with checks, reconcile, ver...
3. Extract Dimensions with Provenance: Goal: Build a complete dimension table for the current drawing in which every value carries its provenance. | Inputs: The sheet image for this drawing and its inventory entry. | Outputs: A dimension table: labeled value...
4. Compile the Package Report: Goal: Compile the package-level conversion report after all drawings are processed. | Inputs: The per-drawing tolerance records and deliverable lists. | Outputs: One report: a per-part row (checks passed, worst deviatio...
5. Predict Acceptance Values by Hand: Goal: Hand-compute the acceptance numbers for this part from the drawing arithmetic alone, before any CAD call is made. | Inputs: The dimension table for the current drawing. | Outputs: The predicted bounding box; the p...
6. Request Engineering Disposition: Send a other request to a human. The drawing package has been converted to verified STEP models. Please review the package report, in particular the open engineering questi...
7. Build the Part with Live Checks: Write a parametric CadQuery script in which every number is a named top-level parameter tied to a drawing callout, and publish the final shape as result. Send a checks array asser...
8. Reconcile Every Check: Goal: Disposition every build check and the hole table before accepting the model. | Inputs: The build response: per-check measured values and pass/fail, the hole table, the overview (size, volume, validity), and the pr...
9. Verify Independently: Measure the accepted revision independently of the build checks: face-to-face distances for the overall dimensions (selector pairs like >X/<X on faces), mass_properties at the mat...
10. Render Drawings and Screenshots: Render engineering line drawings with hidden edges for the views the sheet uses, and compare them against the source sheet before signing off (the tool's named views may use a dif...
11. Write the Tolerance Record: Goal: Write this part's tolerance record and assemble its deliverables. | Inputs: The dimension table, the build and measurement results, the renders, and the general tolerance note from the title block. | Outputs: A to...

## Frequently Asked Questions

### How do I connect this workflow to my local agent like OpenClaw or Claude Code?

You can install the local MCP server by opening a terminal and running:

```
npm install -g @agentpmt/mcp-router
agentpmt-setup
```

This will connect you to local agents like Claude Code, Windsurf, Grok Build, Cursor, etc.

Alternatively you can connect to the hosted version with this config block, no installation required:

```
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "agentpmt": {
      "type": "streamable-http",
      "url": "https://api.agentpmt.com/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer <AGENTPMT_BEARER_TOKEN>",
        "x-instance-metadata": "{\"client\":\"generic-mcp\",\"platform\":\"remote\"}"
      }
    }
  }
}
```

[View MCP Connection Instructions](/docs/mcp-reference/connection) for more details.

### How do I trigger this workflow?

You can use it here in the browser by clicking the 'Try It' button.

If you 'star' the workflow it will save to your dashboard for quick access.

To use the workflow in an external agent, make sure you have followed the steps to connect it to the MCP server and then copy / paste this prompt, or just tell it to use the AgentPMT MCP server and use this workflow.
